The heart of every "AQUA-16" system is our unique sensor package. The design of the sensor package and the probe, is the result of years of research, development and refinement.
The probe has mounting facilities for 13 sensors at the bottom flange plus 3 sensor connection facilities at the top flange = 16 sensors. The electronics measure up to 24 primary water quality parameters because several sensors deliver more than one output.
Each sensor is connected to its own on-line electronic circuit.
Sensor board 1 contains electronics for: "C" Conductivity, "T" Temperature, "D" Depth,"O2" Oxygen 1(clark type), "O2" Oxygen 2 (clark type), pH and Redox.
Sensor board 2 contains electronics for: "TU" Turbidity, "IP" Probe Irradiance PPFFR, "O2" Oxygen (micro type).
Sensor board 3 contains electronics for: "CS" Current Speed (Vx, Vy, Vz, SV) and "SV" Sound
Velocity.
Sensor board 4 contains electronics for: "CD" Current Direction (Hx, Hy).
Sensor board 5 contains electronics for: "TD" Tilt Direction (Tx, Ty).
On-line data, available at the sensor electronics, are all connected to the A/D-converter.
A/D-converter and processor communicate through an industry standard RS-423 serial port (improved RS-232) for reporting and analysis.
The processor board has 2 mounting facilities for extra RAM memory (128 kB to 1.024 MB).
On-line communication through 4-pole connector (12 volt DC power plus RS-423 and optional FSK).
On-line/off-line communication through 6-pole connector for monitoring or no-cable operations.
